DESCRIPTION:Join our public protest to send a message to our leaders to take climate action now\, and reach an effective and fair agreement at the Glasgow COP26 Climate Talks. \nMeet from 11.15am on the paved area next to Watford High Street Station ready to march at 11.30am to the Watford Town Hall in solidarity with the marches in Glasgow\, London and elsewhere.  \nThe protest is part of the Global Day of Climate Action for Justice. \nWe will be highlighting the government’s hypocrisy in claiming to be a world leader on climate whilst building new roads and runways\, and continuing to support fossil fuels here and abroad. \nEveryone is welcome. HCCSP includes all ten districts and boroughs\, Hertfordshire County Council and the Local Enterprise Partnership. \nTo date\, the partnership has produced Strategic Action Plans on Water Sustainability\, Biodiversity\, Carbon reduction and Transport. SUMMARY:Carbon Literacy Action Day
DESCRIPTION:To coincide with Day 1 of the UN COP26 negotiations in Glasgow this November\, we are staging the first-ever Carbon Literacy Action Day. The Action Day will catalyse action on climate change through Carbon Literacy training\, getting everyone involved in delivering positive action\, to address climate change wherever they are. \nThe Action Day is fully inclusive and open to all\, and on November 1st we will witness thousands of people from all walks of life\, sectors\, genders\, ages and nations all around the world\, participate and complete their days’ worth of Carbon Literacy training. \nWe will be making and sharing virtual visits to courses and initiatives throughout the day\, but at 17:00 GMT we will commence a virtual tour by Zoom\, giving participants and their groups the opportunity to share some of the best actions coming from their learners.  At the same time we will tabulate the total number of learners that have participated in the Action Day\, count their actions and estimate the predicted amount of CO2e saved as a consequence.
